Lawmakers in North Dakota will hear testimony on a bill that would lower the price of insulin drugs and supplies on Thursday. If adopted, the bill would set out-of-pocket costs for a monthly supply of insulin at $25 for the North Dakota commercial insurance market.
The same monthly price cap would also apply to medical supplies used to administer insulin. The bill would impact North Dakotans on individual or small group insurance plans but not those provided by large employers.
The bill is marked House Bill 1114, and the state estimates the cost would be about $834,000 for North Dakota.
