After a lackluster performance on Monday Night, and a momentum sparking ejection on Wednesday, the Minnesota Timberwolves are starting to gain some steam as the All Star break and half way point of the season approaches.
The Wolves defeated the Utah Jazz on Thursday night 138-113 earning their 5th straight win and improving their record to 27-21, after a week ago they were just floating above .500.
Anthony Edwards (As per usual) led the team and game in points scored with 36, and the returning Naz Reid also gave a spark cashing in on 4 straight 3 pointers to finish with 12 points.
One performance that should be noted from the win, and perhaps the rest of the season was Rookie Guard Rob Dillingham, having a “Hello World!” performance totaling 19 points, with 8 assists in 23 minutes played.
Superstar Anthony Edwards noted a couple weeks ago that Dillingham reminded him a lot of himself, and just needed to get some opportunities to show what Dillingham can bring to the team. As the All Star Break approaches the T-Wolves might have another star hiding in the weeds as the playoff push will begin.
The Wolves will have another great opportunity for Dillingham and Edwards to ball out this weekend as they will host the Washington Wizards, the NBA’s team with the worst record. As well as next week playing a couple teams that are beatable including Sacramento and Chicago. The Wolves will have some hard tests coming up before the All Star break however with games featuring Houston, Cleveland, Milwaukee and Oklahoma City in a couple weeks.
