Arizona has joined the Federal Trade Commission and four other states in suing Deere & Company for allegedly monopolizing the agricultural equipment repair market. The lawsuit claims that Deere restricts access to essential repair software, forcing farmers to rely on authorized dealers, which increases costs and delays.
Deere denies the allegations, calling the lawsuit “baseless” and arguing that it unfairly punishes innovation. The case is part of the broader “right-to-repair” movement, which seeks to give farmers and independent mechanics the ability to repair equipment without manufacturer-imposed restrictions.
