It’s tournament time in Jamestown.
The Girls District 2B Basketball Tournament tips off at the Jamestown Civic Center, beginning the first of five tournaments at the Civic Center over the next month, including the Girls State B Tournament and boys District and Regional tournaments.
The events are boon to Jamestown economy, with the State B Tournament alone having a $1.4 million economic impact on the city last year according to analysis.
The success of that event led to a new 10-year renewal of tournament rights for the city, with the Girls State B and State A Tournaments alternating every other year.
Fans coming to the Civic Center will notice improvements including a new sound system, seating designs, and floors.
