The top two seeds in the Girls District 2B Basketball Tournament at the Jamestown Civic Center advanced to the title game with emphatic wins on Saturday night.

LaMoure-Litchville/Marion defeated Kidder County 49-26 in the first semifinal matchup.  The Loboes held Kidder County scoreless in the 4th Quarter, and will advance to the championship game for the second consecutive year.   L-L/M used their size advantage to outrebound the Wolves 39-17, with forward Norah Della Barre grabbing 8 rebounds to go along with her game-high 14 points.

The Linton-HMB Lions got revenge on the Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier Rebels in the second semifinal.   The Rebels beat the Lions in the District Semifinals last year.  This year, the Lions would score in the opening minutes and never relinquish their lead, winning 50-39.   Suffocating man-to-man and 2-3 zone defenses stymied the Rebels offense, with E/K/M shooting just 26% from the field in the game, and making just 2/14 three pointers.   The Lions had three players in double figures, with Amber McCrory leading them with 16 points, and Jersey Vogel and Brooklyn Schumacher each adding 12.

LaMoure-Litchville/Marion will meet Linton-HMB for the District Championship Game on Monday Night, with tip off scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Civic Center.

KSJB Radio’s coverage will being at 3:40pm with two Regional Qualifier games featuring Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier vs. Ellendale, and Kidder County vs. Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter.
