The Linton HMB Lions roared to a 68-59 win over LaMoure-Litchville/Marion (LLM) to advance to win the District 2B Girls Basketball Tournament in Jamestown Monday night.
Led by District 2B Coach of the Year Michael Schirado, the Lions Jersey Vogel dropped a game high 35 points to lift the team. LLM’s Addison Smitha and Nora DeLaBarre each added 14.
In the region qualifiers, Kidder County beat Napoleon/Gackle/Streeter 45-32 to extend its season. Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier (EKM) handled Ellendale 50-20 to advance to the next tournament of the postseason.
Division B’s Region 1 Tournament will feature the top four teams from the District 2B Tournament and four other teams in the region. Linton/HMB, EKM, Kidder County and LLM will play in the Region 1B Tournament at the Jamestown Civic Center next week.
