The Minnesota Twins start the everyday grind of baseball games on Saturday when the team takes on the Atlanta Braves. Ahead of the game, outfielder Byron Buxton talked to WCCO radio’s Jason DeRusha, stating he is “a leader” but won’t operate like those in the past in the Minnesota clubhouse.
“I’m just one of the teammates, one of the brothers that they can come up and talk to. When you put a title on it and you have young guys that come in here, they feel different, like they can’t talk to you and that’s how it was when I came up. I’m not going to be like that,” Buxton said.
Buxton is 31 and in his 11th year in the big leagues this season, all of which have been spent with Minnesota.
