A new pilot program, backed by the Walton Family Foundation, aims to help farmers transition to regenerative agriculture by offering discounted interest rates on land loans.
Led by Farmers Business Network (FBN), the Regenerative Agriculture Financing Land Loan provides financial incentives for farms that implement conservation practices benefiting soil health, water quality, and climate resilience.
The Walton Family Foundation has invested $750,000 to support the initiative, which will initially serve about 20 farmers. Participants can receive interest rate reductions of 0.25% to 0.5% on newly financed land for up to seven years
Farmers must meet environmental criteria to qualify for the loan discounts.
