As first reported by KFYR, the town of Glen Ullin is battling a fire that is burning through farms south of the area. The fire started around 3:00 p.m. Monday and burned about eight square miles as of 10:00 p.m.
According to Glen Ullin Fire Chief Wade Kottre, fire crews are now putting out flare-ups and containing the fire on Tuesday morning. No injuries have been reported, and many farmers in the area helped the fire department in putting out the fires with their own tractors and disks. No homes have been lost in the fire.
