The 2025 MLB season for Royce Lewis is getting off much like it did in 2024, this time, before the game that count even started.
In Sunday’s game against the Boston Red Sox, Lewis left the game after hitting a ground ball and trying to beat out the tag. While heading for first, he hopped in the air and began to slow himself down, also being called out.
After a visit from manager Rocco Baldelli, Lewis was pulled from the game.
Now the question that needs to be asked is, how long of a period will this injury be?
After an extremely hot to start to the season… in the first couple of innings… in 2024, after pulling his quad, Lewis missed around 2 months of action. It seems to be an ongoing pattern in Lewis young career, who is bound to start Opening day on the Injured List.
Injuries, and maintaining them will be a major storyline as the Twins begin their 2025 campaign, their success will depend on the health of their 3 superstars, Byron Buxton, Carlos Correa, and Royce Lewis. One of those key pieces is already injured to start the season, the Twins will need the other two to keep the team afloat if they’re going to try for the division title against a competitive AL Central.
The Twins open up the season on March 27th, traveling to St. Louis to take on the Cardinals.
