In response to Tuesday’s protests outside the federal courthouse in Bismarck, Republican U.S. Rep. Julie Fedorchak has announced a telephone town hall for Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. Central. The announcement comes after Bismarck-area residents rallied specifically calling for Fedorchak and Senators Kevin Cramer and John Hoeven to hold in-person town hall meetings with constituents. “I look forward to hearing directly from North Dakotans about the issues that matter most to them,” Fedorchak said in a statement. Those wishing to participate must register through Fedorchak’s website by 5 p.m. Monday. The event will also be livestreamed on her website and Facebook page. While the telephone format addresses some constituent demands for access to their representative, it falls short of the in-person town halls that protesters specifically requested.
