The Fargo police department will issue $50 citations to anyone caught engaging in exhibition driving and a $100 fine to anyone who is found street racing this spring and summer.
The department says that the speed of these acts creates safety issues, and there is a further safety issue with many of the same drivers being caught on their phones during the act. The Fargo police say that their new revitalized traffic safety team has already made a significant impact, and they encourage drivers to stay focused and aware to help prevent accidents.
