Twins to Start 2025 Season in St. Louis Thursday

By Ryan King Mar 26, 2025 | 11:32 AM

Baseball is officially back, and the Minnesota Twins will hit the field tomorrow for the first time in the 2025 season.

The Twins are trying to bounce back after a hideous collapse in 2024 that caused them to miss the playoffs, during a season full of injuries and on-field blunders finishing 82-80 and fourth in the division.

The Twins will open their 2025 season on the road, traveling to St. Louis for a 3 game series against the Cardinals.

Minnesota will have to answer a few questions right away to begin the 2025 season, like how will the team fill the hole in the lineup left by third basemen Royce Lewis who accrued another injury in his short career, injuring his hamstring during a spring training game a couple of weeks ago, as well as has the team found the answer in a hitting coach that might stop the high amount of strikeouts the Twins offense went through last season.

A good majority of last years starting lineup returns this season, with newcomer Ty France taking over first base duty, and Willie Castro filling in for Royce Lewis at third. The Twins as a team also hold one of the best starting rotations and bullpens in the league according to projections and 2024 statistics.

The Twins projected lineup to start the 2025 season goes as shown:

1.Matt Wallner OF

2. Carlos Correa SS

3. Byron Buxton OF

4. Trevor Larnach OF

5. Jose Miranda DH

6. Ryan Jeffers C

7. Willie Castro 3B

8. Ty France 1B

9. Edouard Julien 2B

The starting rotation for the beginning of the 2025 season goes as shown:

1. Pablo Lopez

2. Joe Ryan

3. Bailey Ober

4. Simeon Woods-Richardson

5. Chris Paddack

Can the Twins rebound after a horrific end to their season last year? Will the strikeouts cease, and the Bomba Squad make its return to Target Field? Can the team hold off the injuries and get back to October baseball? All questions needed to be answered as the Twins take the field on Thursday afternoon.

The Twins will have to wait a couple of series before finally opening up Target Field for the 2025 season, after the St. Louis Cardinals series, the Twins will then travel to Chicago for a 3 game series against the Chicago White Sox, and then finally return home to start a 3 game series against the Houston Astros on April 3rd.

Be sure to keep yourself update on the Twins daily during the 2025 MLB season during the Buffalo City Blitz on our stations KSJB 100.1 FM and 600 AM from 12-12:30 Monday through Friday!
