Minnesota Vikings general manager Kweski Adofo-Mensah said that former Michigan Wolverine J.J. McCarthy is “the outcome we’re headed towards” said when asked whether McCarthy would be the Vikings Week 1 starter.
“For me to sit here and say that anything’s 100 percent forever, that’s just not the job,” Adofo-Mensah said.
McCarthy was picked No. 10 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft and sustained a season ending knee injury after playing in one preseason game last year. The news leaves speculation that free agent quarterbacks like Aaron Rodgers could still sign with the Vikings.
