The Grand Forks Fire Department responded to small fire at Stay Inn on Sunday morning. The fire at 1000 42nd Street N. took place around 5 a.m.
Crews saw smoke and the call turned into a full alarm. The smoke started from a bathroom fan in an unoccupied room at the inn. The fire was put out and damage was contained to the one unit which contained the bathroom fan. The cause determined to be accidental and from the fan’s malfunctioning.
No injuries were reported. Five engines, one truck and a command vehicle with 17 personnel responded to the call.
