The state of North Dakota may soon develop a website detailing its Legacy Fund holdings after the North Dakota Senate passed an investment transparency bill last week. The Legacy Fund is worth more than $12 billion and is a state trust fund.
House Bill 1319 says the proposed website must include all Legacy Fund “companies, funds and other financial mechanisms in which the Legacy Fund is invested.”
The cost for the website is estimated to be about $421,000, according to a fiscal note on the bill. The website would cost around $27,500 to maintain annually.
