In other baseball news, the Twins announced today that they have selected the contract of right-hander Scott Blewett from Triple-A St. Paul.

Blewett has thrown in two games for the Saints this season, allowing three runs on three hits in 2.1 innings pitched. In Spring Training, Blewett pitched to a 2.79 ERA in eight games and one start.

To make room for Blewett, the Twins have designated right-handed pitcher Darren McCaughan for release or assignment. McCaughan made three relief appearances after joining the Twins on March 31.
