Five people charged for fentanyl trafficking in North Dakota

An indictment has been issued against five individuals involved in a drug trafficking operation that allegedly transported controlled substances to North Dakota communities. According to federal prosecutors, Justin Morin, Allison Moran, Alonso Meija, Candice Valdez, and Vicki Sherven traveled between Arizona, Colorado, and North Dakota to transport and distribute drugs. All five suspects face charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances. Prosecutors allege they distributed methamphetamine and fentanyl-laced opiate pills throughout the Bismarck-Mandan area, Fort Berthold Reservation, which has been facing an opiate crisis, and other North Dakota locations. The indictment contains a total of seven counts, including additional drug and firearm charges. A jury trial for the case has been scheduled for May 6.
