The suspect in a fatal Moorhead shooting has been arrested in Michigan, police announced Monday. Jerome Anthony Thomas III, 35, was apprehended along with accomplice Abby Nicole Fredrickson, 32, following a traffic stop around 11 a.m. Thomas is charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder in the Sunday shooting death of James Earl Hamilton, 39, who died from multiple gunshot wounds in the 2700 block of 14th Street South. Thomas also allegedly shot at another person three blocks away, though no one was injured in that incident. After fleeing in a mint-green Chevrolet Trax with temporary Indiana registration, the pair was located north of Ishpeming, Michigan. Both suspects are being held in Marquette County Jail awaiting extradition. Thomas, who has had his driver’s license suspended 18 times since 2015, faces active court cases in both North Dakota and Minnesota.
