An update on the story regarding the 20-year-old man who sustained serious injuries when his motorcycle collided with a Chevrolet Malibu in Fargo on Friday has revealed the driver to be Clay County Sheriff’s office employee Avery Quiner, who works as a correctional officer. The North Dakota Highway Patrol released details Monday. The crash occurred at 7:30 p.m. at 52nd Avenue South and 31st Street South. Before the collision, authorities clocked Quiner’s motorcycle at approximately 140 mph but didn’t pursue for safety reasons. Quiner faces pending felony charges for aggravated fleeing and reckless driving. Sheriff Mark Empting acknowledged the situation but declined further comment until legal proceedings conclude. The Malibu’s driver and one passenger sustained minor injuries; a third occupant was uninjured. All vehicle occupants were wearing seatbelts.
