A 44-year-old man from Mandan died after a head-on collision while driving the wrong way on I-94 in Barnes County. The crash occured at 12:58 p.m. on Monday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The 44-year-old was driving a Toyota Camry east in the westbound lane of I-94 when he crashed into a Chrevrolet Traverse 2 miles southeast of Eckleson, ND. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Traverse driver, a 74-year-old man from Bismarck, suffered serious injuries, although not life-threatening. He was transferred from a hospital in Valley City to a Fargo hospital. Both men were wearing seatbelts and their airbags deployed. The crash is currently under investigation and names of those involved have yet to be released.
