Former North Dakota Senator Ray Holmberg is heading to prison. District Court Judge Daniel Hovland has ordered Holberg to jail for violations of his conditional release. Holmberg will have until 1:00 p.m. on Friday to report to the U.S. Marshals Service for detention. He has pleaded guilty to federal charges of sexual tourism to the Czech Republic with plans to abuse children. Holmberg violated his release conditions including accessing social media just days after being warned about the behavior by Judge Hovland. Holmberg was a North Dakota State Senator from 1976 to 2022.
