One round is in the books from the Class A State playoffs, but we still have many rounds to go! Here’s a preview of the upcoming games in the Quarterfinal round of the Class A playoffs in North Dakota.
- Shiloh Christian @ #1 Kindred
- Kindred rolled in the first round against Carrington (as expected), but in their way this week will be Shiloh Christian who defeated Ray/Powers Lake 34-6 to advance last week. These teams did not play each other in the regular season.
2. Bishop Ryan @ #4 Central Cass
- Central Cass cruised to a victory at home in the first round defeating Bottineau 48-20, and Bishop Ryan who flirted in the top 5 all season long got a win over Dickinson Trinity 29-17 to advance. These teams did not play each other in the regular season.
3. Harvey/Wells County @ #2 Velva/Garrison/Drake/Anamoose
- Aside from Kindred, one other team who has been on a hot streak has been Velva, they dominated in the first round defeating Southern McClean 71-0 to advance while, Harvey/Wells County defeated EEK in a close one 14-7. These teams DID play each other in the regular season, and Velva came away with a win 36-0. Can Harvey/Wells County pull off the huge upset in this rematch?
4. Langdon Area/Munich @ #3 Killdeer
- One sneaky team that has been under the radar in the last weeks leading up to the season is Killdeer, entering the tourney as the #3 team, and has been rolling teams similarly to Kindred and Velva the last couple of weeks, Killdeer cruised to a 44-22 win over Des Lacs Burlington in the first round to advance, but in their way will be Langdon Area/Munich, who beat Oakes in a close one 27-24 to advance. These two teams did NOT play each other in the regular season.
