A Monday morning crash involving a young permitted-driver in Barnes County killed one woman and seriously injured the teenage driver.
A semi-truck was hauling soybeans on Highway 1 around 8:00 a.m. just east of Sanborn. That according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol who says a 15-year-old girl with a drivers permit was driving a Dodge Avenger tried to pass, but collided with the semi on the passenger side. The resulting crash killed a 46-year-old female passenger in the Dodge. The teenage driver, and the 59-year-old driver of the semi, suffered serious life-threatening injuries and were taken to area hospitals.
The NDHP is investigating the crash, and has not released the names of those involved.
