RON JORDAN, KSJB LOCAL NEWS –

Mandan Middle School will “plant” 96 flags on Veterans Day after surpassing its goal of raising $1,000 for the Disabled American Veterans Field of Flags Fundraiser.  Many schools raised money for the national organization, and MMS raised $1,194 — the 44th highest amount out of the 565 schools that participated from around the country.  The top three individuals and the Braves advisory class that raised the most money for the fundraiser, along with a few student council members, will plant 96 flags at MMS. The flags will be removed the day after Veterans Day, and students will be allowed to take one home for their family members.
