PAYTON GALL, KSJB LOCAL NEWS –
Doug Burgum and the North Dakota Housing Initiative Advisory committee have revealed an approach after listening sessions earlier this year. Governor Burgum says there are 30,000 jobs that have yet to be filled in the state, and that this $96 million housing project could have a major impact on North Dakota workers’ ability to build a good life for themselves and their family.
Burgum suggests that in order to have a growing economy and keep workers in our state, there need to be reduced barriers to participation in the workforce, such as accessible housing.
This approach will be submitted as part of the governor’s executive budget proposal in December during the 69th Legislative Assembly.
