The legendary voice of KSJB Radio, Mike McKay, unexpectedly passed away in his home last week. Mike was loved and adored by everybody at KSJB Radio, and will be incredibly missed.
Seth Dunlap, the Program Director for KSJB Radio says he considered Mike a dear friend and colleague, and that the light and love for radio that shone from him will be missed and irreplaceable.
“Mike was not only invaluable as the long time voice of KSJB Radio, but we became friends during our two years working together,” Dunlap said. “Mike and I would chat about our love for radio and the passion for the industry we’ve both shared our entire lives. When I needed advice, he was there. When we needed support and his infectious positivity, he was there. A man who grew into more than a friend to me. . .a mentor and trusted right-hand-man. I will miss Mike dearly, but he will always be with me.”
McKay served as ‘The Voice of KSJB Radio’ for the past decade, and listeners became intimately familiar with him through liners, promotions, and announcements they would hear every day on the air.
