The man who led law enforcement on a chase through North Dakota & Minnesota last summer has been sentenced in one county.
43-year-old Mark Crompton fled an arrest attempt in Clay County, Minnesota on June 12th. Crompton then led police on a vehicle chase through Cass, Grand Forks, and Richland Counties in North Dakota. Deputies from the Richland County Sheriff’s office were finally able to make the arrest when Crompton’s vehicle got stuck in a field in Walcott, and he was found hiding in a motorhome.
Crompton pled guilty in Richland County to crimes theft, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and giving false information to law enforcement. He will serve 3 years in jail with two years of probation following. He gets credit for 161 days served.
Crompton still faces multiple charges in Grand Forks County.
