Cavendish Farms announced plans for $100 million expansion to the potato plant, plus $50 million in additional improvements to their facilities.  Construction will reportedly begin in 2025 and will expand the building by 55 feet and replace the industrial fryer.  A new wastewater treatment plant is also planned.

The upgrades will allow for an estimated increase of 40 million pounds of production annually, up to a total of 450 million pounds per year.  There has not been comment on if the expansion will bring new jobs.

Cavendish Farms employs around 250 people at their Jamestown facility, with corporate headquarters located in Canada.
