A Fargo city politician will be serving once again in a prominent national role.
Fargo City Commissioner John Strand was elected for the third time to serve as the Vice Chair of the National League of Cities Human Development Federal Advocacy Committee. Strand will serve a once year term and work with other committee members to promote policies they see beneficial to cities and towns of all sizes across the county.
There are over 19,000 cities are members of the NLC, including over 100 in North Dakota.
Strand said in a statement that he was grateful to be elected, and called it an honor to join the committee.
