A Bismarck man was arrested on Black Friday after becoming violent suffering from a medical condition.
Bismarck Police say 40-year-old Michael Sjomeling was inside the Metro Area Ambulance station when a paramedic was attempting to insert an IV into his arm. Sjomeling then allegedly became violent, sexually assaulting the paramedic twice. Police responded and arrested Sjomeling on sexual assault charges. He is being held in the Burleigh/Morton Detention Center.
There has been no report on the paramedic’s condition, whose identity is protected through federal sexual assault laws.
A trial is scheduled for March of next year.
