43-year-old Tyler Feist was driving a Chevy Impala north on Highway 49 when he tried to pass a semi-trailer headed northbound in a no passing zone just before 6:00 a.m. While trying to pass, Feist ran head-on into a Nissan Rogue that was driving South.
Feist’s passenger, Christopher Noel, a 42-year-old from Mandan, was not wearing a seat belt and died as a result of the crash. Feist, who was also unbuckled, was taken by an ambulance to a Bismarck hospital. The 41-year-old driver of the Rogue was airlifted to a Bismarck hospital.
The crash is still under investigation.
