The Maple River Raiders needed a second-half comeback that included an incredible performance from the free throw line to top the LaMoure-Litchville/Marion Loboes 56-54 and claim third place at the Barnes County Girls Basketball Tournament at Valley City State University.
Senior Center Adyson Hannig had a career night at the free throw line for Maple River (3-1), converting her final 14 attempts at the line to lead the Raiders second half surge. Hannig had missed four of her first five free throws before the impressive streak. She finished with 29 points to lead all scorers.
Sophomore Addy Smith led the Loboes with 21 points, with 10 coming in the first 2:30 of the second half. LaMoure-Litchville/Marion (2-2) shot just 29% from the field, and just 1/11 from three-point range. L/L/M placed fourth at the tournament.
The Lobes next games is on December 17 against Ellendale in LaMoure. Maple River will play Hillsboro/CV in Tower City on December 20.
