In “the bubble,” otherwise known as the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse in Valley City, North Dakota, the Barnes County North Bison beat the Maple River Raiders on Tuesday night, 43-38.
“We came out really hot right away,” Barnes County North head coach Dawson Schmidt said. “Overall it was a good game, good win. We’ll be back and ready for Thursday.”
Barnes County North got a big boost from junior Jayson Schlenker, who led the team with 20 points. Parker Amann also poured in 11 points while senior big man James Jewett grabbed 14 rebounds.
“We are going to outsize a lot of people that we play,” Schmidt said. “Our offense runs through our two bigs down there. They go as we go.”
Maple River will face No. 7 Enderlin at 4:40 p.m. on Thursday. Barnes County north will play No. 2 LaMoure/Litchville-Marion later in the evening at 7:30 p.m.
