PowerSchool software was impacted by a cybersecurity breach Wednesday as part of what was reported to be a nationwide breach. PowerSchool is a cloud-based software company used by school districts.
North Dakota Information Technology said PowerSchool identified the breach involving its customer support portal PowerSource. According to the press release, the breach is contained, and PowerSchool is working with state school districts to determine the scope of the breach.
Parents of Bismarck and Minot Public Schools told KFYR that they received an alert that NDIT temporarily locked them out of remote access to the program. Students will still have access at school.
