Fargo North basketball coach suspended the day before Division AA state tournament

Just ahead of the state tournament that started Thursday, Fargo North head basketball coach Travis Hoeg was suspended and placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the school administration’s investigation. No reason for the investigation was given, and because it was an open investigation, North High School administrators could not share any information. This development happened only a day before the Spartans were to compete in the Division AA tournament after qualifying for the fifth consecutive year. Hoeg led the team to the Division AA state championship with a win over Grand Forks Red River in 2023.
