Trump Announces New Tariffs

By Ryan King Apr 3, 2025 | 8:32 AM

President Donald Trump announced new tariffs on at least 60 countries, including significant levies on China, Japan, and the European Union, aiming to revive American manufacturing and ensure fairer trade.

He also imposed a 25% tariff on imported automobiles and criticized high foreign tariffs on U.S. agricultural products.

While Trump argued these measures would boost the economy and reduce the national debt, agricultural groups and trade partners expressed concern about potential retaliatory actions that could harm U.S. exports, especially in farming sectors.
