Scot Loyd, a native of Northeast Arkansas, got his start behind the mic in High School as a DJ at his hometown’s skating rink. In addition to his passion for radio, he is an educator, activist, and writer. Scot grew up not far from the childhood home of Johnny Cash and was influenced by the sights and sounds of Memphis, TN.
In addition to enjoying life, Scot devotes his talents to cultivating a better world. Committed to fostering inclusivity and diversity, exemplified by his viral blog piece “A letter to Roy,” Scot seeks to inspire introspection and dialogue surrounding the complex issues facing the world. Scot is a featured keynote speaker, addressing issues of leadership, communication, and effective persuasion. He has been a featured speaker to various groups such as the Louisiana National Guard leadership gathering, Trinity Health, The Women’s Business Conference sponsored by the Jamestown Regional Entrepreneur Center, and Caribou financial.
Scot enjoys reading, history, a variety of musical genres, and enjoying the outdoors. If you ask him, he will gladly tell you all about his grandchildren. Scot currently resides in Jamestown with his partner Candy and their feisty dog Ryn.
