Are you looking to get rid of some leafy spurge on your property?

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring announced that persons interested in acquiring flea beetles,
and redistributing them on their own property, can do so during the recently planned field day in North
Dakota.

According to Goehring, “Leafy spurge continues to be one of North Dakotas most difficult to control
noxious weeds, and using flea beetles for biological control, as part of an integrated pest management
plan, has proven to be an effective tool in combatting leafy spurge infestations.”

The following sites available for picking the flea beetles is at 10 a.m. Mountain time in Billings County, at
Frank Creed Road north of Fryberg, on Thursday June 20 th , and Tuesday June 25 th .
Signs will denote the turn to the collection site on the right, which is best accessed with a pickup or four-
wheel drive vehicle.

Other counties are planning field days, but complete details have not yet been finalized.
