Southeast South Dakota has been dealing with continuing flooding conditions on their
roads thanks to consistent precipitation in the area that last couple of weeks. Governor
Kristi Noem held a news conference yesterday to update the public on some of the
conditions on the roads, and also warned of some closures. Interstate 29 between exits
2 in North Sioux City, and 9 in Jefferson South Dakota and more in the southeast
corner, were shut down at 6 pm giving road crews time to build levees. South Dakota
officials urge travelers to check the South Dakota DOT to anticipate roads between
Iowa and South Dakota being shut down.
