NFL Round Up! Aiyuk Requests Trade… Again

By Ryan King Jul 17, 2024 | 8:00 AM

Training camp is under way for some teams, but some teams still have some offseason headlines to address before they can have a clear head going into the 2024 NFL Season, here’s some NFL whispers that have started gaining some attention.

Brandon Aiyuk of the San Francisco 49ers requested another trade after long term extension talks with the team has still not produced a new contract. Aiyuk requested a trade earlier in the offseason for the same reason and also took to social media claiming that the 49ers ‘did not want him.” San Francisco assured the wide receiver he isn’t going anywhere, but yet with training camp starting on the 23rd, there is still no contract to be signed. Aiyuk will be a major topic of discussion throughout this training camp period with either him finally getting that contract or trading him away to a team that is willing to pay.

According to sources the Chicago Bears and first overall pick Caleb Williams came to an agreement on his rookie deal signing a 4 year, $39.4 Million Dollar deal with a $25.5 Million Dollar signing bonus, while also signing another first round draft pick wide receiver Rome Odunze to a 4 year deal worth $22.7 million dollars, and a $13.3 Million Dollar signing bonus.

With the news of Caleb Williams signing his contract we should hear the news of Vikings rookie quarterback and first round draft pick JJ McCarthy signing as well within the next couple of days. The Vikings were reported to be awaiting the signing bonus that Caleb Williams would receive from Chicago in order to asses how much money McCarthy would receive.

And news out of Cardinals camp, first round draft pick and new pass catcher for the now HEALTHY Kyler Murray, Marvin Harrison Jr is living up to expectation as the Cards started rookie camp. Harrisons performance so far as caught the attention of his fellow teammates in the locker room, Cardinals tight end said this about Harrison, “This guy’s elite. He’s a freak of nature – it’s one of those things where a guy of his stature shouldn’t be able to move the way he moves, shouldn’t be as fast as he is, shouldn’t be able to catch the ball the way he does.” Harrison could add a much needed pair of hands to the Cardinals offense that was sparse on playmakers last season, and also letting wide receiver Hollywood Brown sign with the Kansas City Chiefs.
