The Jamestown City Council will decide if the city of Jamestown will participate in a state project to bring Missouri River water to communities in eastern and central North Dakota.  The Red River Valley Water Supply Project will provide an emergency water supply to central eastern North Dakota during times of drought, according to the project’s website. The project will also provide an additional supply of industrial water that exceeds the current supply.  The Stutsman Rural Water District Board of Directors recently decided to opt out of the Red River Valley Water Supply Project.  The Jamestown City Council is expected to discuss if it will participate in the project at its meeting on Monday, Aug. 5, at City Hall.
