Team USA Men’s Basketball Improves to 2-0

Team USA would get another win in group play defeating South Sudan 103-86, and it was the bench that would provide a spark for the win.

Before the game started, the headline of the day was, after not playing in game 1 against Serbia at all, Jayson Tatum would get the start for Team USA.

The starters would get off to an okay start for the team, but it was the bench players who came in to make the difference in the game. Bam Adebayo would lead the team in scoring with 18 points and 7 rebounds, while Kevin Durant, again, would be a source of offense supplying 14, and Anthony Edwards added 13.

Tatum, would not have that productive of a day making his 2024 Olympic debut, only scoring 4 points, and collecting 5 rebounds. One noteworthy did not play in the game similar to Tatum in Game 1 and that was Joel Embiid, who played 0 minutes.

Lebron James would also add 12, Devin Booker with 10, and Steph Curry was quiet only scoring 3 points.

Team USA would improve to 2-0 in group play and will continue on facing Puerto Rico this Saturday.
