The Catholic Diocese of North Dakota is going to court to challenge federal protections for LGBTQ citizens and IVF and abortion access in the state.   A complaint filed in federal court calls protections for invitro fertilization treatments in the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act violate the rights of employers who are opposed to those treatments.   The plaintiffs also say protections in that act shielding LGBTQ citizens from discrimination violate religious rights of Catholics in North Dakota.   The complaint is being heard by U.S. District Court Judge Daniel Traynor, who is deliberating whether to suspend the federal regulations while a court challenge plays out.
