Anthrax Detected in North Dakota Livestock

North Dakota has reported its first 2024 case of anthrax in livestock this year, authorities confirmed Wednesday, Oct. 2nd in Adams County in southwest North Dakota. The South Dakota Animal Disease Research and Diagnostic Laboratory confirmed the case on Tuesday.  Producers should watch for unusual livestock deaths, the agriculture department said. Animals may stagger, have difficulty breathing, tremble, and experience fever and seizures.
