RON JORDAN, KSJB LOCAL NEWS –

A marketing and social media campaign has kicked off in opposition to the Measure 5 proposition on the November ballot that would legalize recreational marijuana use in North Dakota.  The “Nope on Dope” campaign is kicking off with social media advertising, claiming that allowing recreational marijuana in North Dakota would harm children, grow the black market, distract law enforcement, and not return revenue to the state treasury. The “Nope on Dope” campaign stems from the American Experiment North Dakota, a public policy organization that provides research and advocacy on state policy issues. In 2016, North Dakota voters approved medical marijuana but rejected recreational marijuana in 2018 and 2022.
