Senator Ray Holmberg could be jailed while he awaits sentencing on a federal child sex abuse charge after a report said he continuously violated release conditions.
A motion was filed on Tuesday by North Dakota First Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Puhl, requesting a hearing to determine if there are “exceptional circumstances” to keep Holmberg out of jail.
The request comes after a report said Holmberg accessed social media platforms, including Facebook and X, eight times after he pleaded guilty on August 8th to a federal charge that said he traveled to Prague multiple time between June 24, 2011 and November 1, 2016 with plans to sexually abuse children.
