Less than a month from being let go as the head coach of the New York Jets, Robert Saleh has joined a new team in a different role, as he awaits for other opportunities to open up after the 2024 NFL season.
Recently, Saleh was spotted at the practice facility of the Green Bay Packers, where one of his closest friends in the league and outside of football, Matt LaFleur patrols the sidelines.
LaFleur was asked about Saleh’s reason for being at the Packers practice, and LaFleur confirmed that Saleh will be joining the team in a special role.
Saleh will assist the Packers offense which is different from his normal background of being a defensive minded coach, by analyzing and giving thoughts from a defensive perspective. If Saleh notices something on the offense that could be critical in the team getting a score or a win, Saleh will assist LaFleur and help assure that it can happen against opposing defenses.
The Packers will hit the road this Sunday after a thrilling last second field goal victory against the Houston Texans in Lambeau last Sunday, the team will travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars.
