With a busy and competitive division to worry about, room for error is very slim when it comes to the NFC North and its teams this season.
All four teams, Green Bay, Minnesota, Detroit, and Chicago all over .500, have been fighting since the first week, with every win being important, and every loss being watched for.
The Green Bay Packers faced adversity yesterday traveling on the road to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jordan Love started the game but on the first drive after rolling to his right and making a pass attempt, Love was noticed as walking/ limping awkwardly on the same leg that kept him out for 2 weeks earlier in the season. Love dealt with the injury through 2 quarters, but in the third during Green Bay’s first possession Love was hit awkwardly as he was getting back up and had to exit the game.
The diagnosis has some positives to it, it was NOT the knee that was injured previously, Love was reported to be dealing with a groin injury, and shouldn’t be out multiple games or possibly not at all.
Malik Willis entered the game, and did well, leading Green Bay to two touchdown drives including a rushing touchdown by running back Josh Jacobs, and a passing touchdown by Tucker Kraft, who got to celebrate National Tight Ends Day in style. Green Bay lead as much as 27-17 entering the fourth quarter, but Jacksonville stormed back tying the game making it almost destined for overtime with under 2 minutes remaining.
On Green Bays last drive of regulation Willis would connect with Jayden Reed for a 51 yard completion to set up the Packers to kick a field goal to win the game by Brandon McManus. McManus has made his presence known in his short time in Green Bay, making this the second straight week the Packers have relied on his leg to win a game.
Malik Willis finished the game steering the ship going 4/5 for 56 yards, and a touchdown. Josh Jacobs would be the leading producer on offense this week, carrying the ball 25 times for 127 yards and 2 scores.
Green Bay improved to 6-2 on the season, and find themselves just one game behind the Detroit Lions for the lead in the NFC North. This coming week, the Lions will travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers in Lambeau Field. Questions surround the Packers sideline entering the week most importantly being asked, who will be at quarterback for the Packers? Love and his ability to pass? Or Willis with his ability to steer the ship and run the offense?
