Turtle Mountain Community College has been awarded more than $1.9 million from the U.S. Department of Education to establish a Research Opportunity Center. The center will be staffed by a research coordinator and data manager, which is supposed to help facilitate research and innovation on the campus.

The research center project “is designed to address looming gaps within the Turtle Mountain TCCU community,” according to the abstract. Turtle Mountain’s 28.5% poverty rate qualifies it for the waive of the match requirement.
